Frequently Asked Questions & Additional Info

What is the run down?

Fill out the Contact form and I will send you a Client Information Sheet that will give me all of the information I need before I begin creating your dance. I ask the Client Information Sheet be completed at least 2-3 weeks prior to our first rehearsal as I do need time to prepare and create your dance.

Within the Client Information Sheet try to be as specific as possible, as this is extremely helpful for me to understand and create a dance that will work best for you!

After I receive your paperwork, we will schedule a time for you to come into the studio to begin learning your choreography. I also ask that payment be made once a date is established for the first rehearsal.

Once we meet and you learn your choreography, you are free to schedule as many follow-up rehearsals as needed! Rehearsals are 60 minutes in length, which gives us enough time to focus on the steps and choreography without being rushed.

What kind of experience should a couple expect when working with you to create their wedding dance?

When working with Choreography by Julie LLC, couples in Erie, Pennsylvania, can expect a fun, relaxed, and supportive experience. Julie will guide you through each step of the choreography process, ensuring you feel comfortable and confident. From the initial consultation to the final rehearsal, Julie provides expert instruction and personalized attention, making the entire journey enjoyable and stress-free. You'll not only learn a beautiful dance but also create lasting memories together.

Are rehearsals BYOB?

First Dance rehearsals are a great date night for couples! My studio allows you to BYOB of 1-2 drinks to enjoy while you dance! So please feel free to bring a beer or hard seltzer to rehearsal if you wish. (No regulated drug use permitted regardless of medical exemption).

What do we wear to rehearsal?

Comfortable clothes you can move in. Wear sneakers or dance shoes, and also bring the shoes you plan to wear on your wedding day to practice in a few times as well! Bring a water bottle!

What if you want to change something in your dance?

If you find that a move within your choreography does not suit you, please do not hesitate to let me know. There are many different options I can suggest for moves, and changing something in your dance is totally okay! After all, this is YOUR dance on your Big Day so let me help you make it the best it can be!

Please email or contact me with any change inquiries so I can be prepared to share new ideas at our next rehearsal.

What is the scheduling availability?

My availability is Monday to Thursday evenings 5:30-8:30pm. I can accommodate other days and times as well, if needed.

I schedule in 1-hour increments. We can schedule all of your rehearsals upfront, or one at a time as your schedule allows.

I typically need a 2-week window from the time you submit your paperwork to the time of your first rehearsal, as I will need time to put your choreography together. All subsequent rehearsals must be made at least 24 hours in advance.

When is payment due?

After we find a day and time that works for you to learn the choreography, payment must be paid in full to my PayPal or Venmo.

My account is under Choreography by Julie LLC.

No refunds for no-shows.

Any additional rehearsals can be paid in the future, as needed.

All payment made to Julie Bartoo or Choreography by Julie is nonrefundable.

Military discount- $25 off any package!

Does the length of my song matter?

Typically, clients come to me with songs ranging from 2:30 minutes to 5:00+ minutes. Whatever you decide to do is fine! All couples and clients have their own unique vision. Depending on what you want to do and which dance this is for, it can take several additional rehearsals to learn and perfect your choreography. My packages represent the average length of a song-- I give 1 hour of rehearsal per 1 minute of choreography/song time to learn. For example, if your song is a little over 4 minutes long and you’ve chosen the Soulmate Package (which includes 4 rehearsals) you may want to assume you’ll need one more 1 hour rehearsal to complete your dance. That would be 5 total 1-hour rehearsals to learn 4+ total minutes of a song. Of course, you may add unlimited rehearsals to perfect and practice!! Each client is unique, however, this is the rehearsal pattern I see most often.
